Abstract:
Objectives: In the demographic conditions of widespread population aging, the problem of prolonging an active lifestyle and work activity has become an important issue. Therefore, favorable working conditions for older workers are one of the important issues of personnel and human resources management. Methods/Approach: The study of the question of how favorable the organizational climate is for older employees was carried out using cluster analysis methods of initial data collected and presented for 37 countries in the CRANET database as a result of surveys of human resource management in various enterprises and fields of activity. Results: As a result of cluster analysis, the 37 countries are divided into four groups, and a discussion of the possible reasons for this particular division is presented. An integral summary indicator is also obtained to assess the friendliness of older workers concerning the organizational and cultural climate. An analysis of the obtained results was carried out. Conclusions: Using data from the СRANET database makes it possible to generalize the analysis and comparative assessment of the organizational climate for different countries. The possibility of constructing a single generalizing indicator for this climate can help develop policies for managing the workforce and prolonging the work activity of older people in the context of increasing demographic problems at different levels of the economy and management.
